Weight Management Testing begins Oct. 17 for high school and junior high/middle school wrestling programs with the first testing scheduled at Fultondale High School. Pre-scheduled time slots will be used. Schools need to call Coach Doug Barfield at 334-467-8067 to reserve a time slot. Encore Rehabilitation Corporation has been approved to fill this need. 
     The six testing dates with sites/locations are listed below. The times will begin at 9 a.m. at each site and will be set up in half-hour intervals ending at noon.

Oct. 17-Fultondale HS
Oct. 24-Auburn HS
Oct. 31-Pell City HS
Nov. 7- Bob Jones HS
Nov. 14-Homewood HS
Nov. 21-St. James HS, Montgomery
     The coach must bring a complete listing of the athletes’ names along with the complete payment for the team’s processing fees. Coaches and complete teams should be at the testing site no later than 30 minutes before the assigned weigh-in time.

Eligibility  

Age Rule - A high school student who has reached his/her 19th birthday before Aug. 1 is ineligible. Any junior high (ninth grade) student who has reached his/her 16th birthday before Aug. 1 is ineligible. Any middle school student who has reached his/her 15th birthday before Aug. 1 is ineligible.

Rules  

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Wrestling Rules Committee  emphasized risk minimization and standardized procedures to assist both coaches and referees through 16 wrestling rules changes for the 2008-09 school year. Rules changes were made by the committee at its annual meeting in Indianapolis  and subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.
