Eligibility  

TRANSFER RULE  A student is eligible in the school zone in which his/her parents reside. Any student who completes one year's attendance at a school outside his/her home school zone and fulfills all other requirements becomes eligible in that school. (This does not apply to foreign exchange students.)
     A student whose parents make a bona fide move completely from one school zone into another may transfer all his/her rights and privileges to the member school that serves the area where the parents reside.

CHANGES FOR 2009: Permitting head coaches to stand during play is among changes in high school volleyball rules approved for the 2009 season at the recent NFHS Volleyball Rules Committee meeting in Indianapolis.        
     With volleyball becoming a growing spectator sport resulting in more noise from crowds, this change to Rules 12-2-6 and 9-1-1 will allow coaches better communication with their players.
     Previously, head coaches were only permitted to stand during a dead ball or time-out. Now coaches may stand in the replacement zone during play.
