Raycom’s AHSAA Super TV Network and NFHS Network to Stream All Super 7 Football Championships & Unified Game over NFHS Network

     MONTGOMERY – All seven AHSAA Super 7 state championship football games will be available to viewers across the state at a Raycom affiliate or over the affiliate’s Bounce Channel as well as over the internet at the NFHS Network and You Tube.  
      Michael White of the NFHS Network announced Wednesday that Raycom and the NFHS Network have reached an agreement to live-stream the championships on the internet over the NFHS Network subscriber-based national network. The Unified Game, a partnership of the AHSAA and Special Olympics Alabama, kicks off the week today at 3:30 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium with Baldwin County facing Vestavia Hills. The game is being produced by the Hillcrest High School’s NFHS Network School Broadcast Program over the NFHS Network. The NFHS Network will pick up feeds from the Raycom broadcast for the seven championship games – beginning tonight with the Class 7A finals between defending champion Hoover (10-3) and McGill-Toolen Catholic (13-0).     There is no Raycom station is located in Mobile, but viewers from that area will have several ways to view the championships. According to Raycom Producer Rich Michaelson of Broadview Media, Mobile viewers can get the Raycom broadcast over WKRG TV,  which carrying all games over its D-3 channel (My TV) –  including McGill-Toolen Catholic vs. Hoover tonight, St. Paul’s Episcopal vs. Briarwood Christian in the 5A finals on Thursday night, and UMS-Wright vs. Fayette County in the 4A finals Friday.

     MONTGOMERY – All seven AHSAA Super 7 state championship football games will be available to viewers across the state at a Raycom affiliate or over the affiliate’s Bounce Channel and over the internet on You Tube by live video-stream. There is no Raycom station is located in Mobile, but viewers from that area will have several ways to view the championships.
    According to Raycom Producer Rich Michaelson of Broadview Media, WKRG TV, over its D-3 channel (My TV), is carrying all games live – including McGill-Toolen Catholic vs. Hoover in the 7A state finals Wednesday night; St. Paul’s Episcopal vs. Briarwood Christian in the 5A finals on Thursday night; and UMS-Wright vs. Fayette County in the 4A finals Friday.

9 AHSAA Football Playoff Live-Streams set for NFHS Network Raycom AHSAA Game of the Week Features

     MONTGOMERY – Raycom Media has selected Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa at Wetumpka as the  Raycom/AHSAA State Playoff Game of the Week tonight. The Class 6A semifinal game will be shown live over the television network’s stations in Alabama. To find local listings, go to: www.pathtotheplayoffs.com.
    AHSAA Corporate Partner ALFA has also designated Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa at Wetumpka as its ALFA Game of the Week.
    The NFHS Network  Playoff Game of the Week will be the other Class 6A semifinal featuring Clay-Chalkville at Pinson Valley.  The NFHS Network, through its AHSAA School Broadcast Program, will feature nine football playoff live video-streaming productions tonight as the AHSAA state football playoffs determine next week’s Super 7 participants. Raycom will broadcast all seven Super 7 State Football Championships Dec. 6-8 from Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and the Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa NFHS Network School Broadcast Program will live-stream the Super 7 Unified Sports Game between Vestavia Hills and Baldwin County on Wednesday.
     The NFHS Network will also live-stream the finals of the 58th annual AHSAA State Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday at Auburn University’s Martin Aquatics Center beginning at 2 p.m.
   Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa (10-3) rolls into Wetumpka (12-1) following a 26-24 victory over Opelika in the Class 6A quarterfinals. Coach Sam Adams’ Patriots opened the season at 0-2 but have since won 10 of their last 11 games. The only loss was to Class 7A Thompson 33-27 in the last game of the regular season.  Wetumpka (12-1), coached by Tim Perry, beat Spanish Fort 69-41 last week. The Indians scored 34 points in the third quarter to break open a game tied at 21 all. The defense intercepted five passes with Malik Davis returning on 68 yards for a TD to jump-start the third-quarter rally. Teammate Rico Bozeman also returned a fumble 17 yards for another score in the same quarter.   
    The NFHS Network AHSAA Game of the Week will feature two Jefferson County rivals. Clay-Chalkville (10-3) beat previously undefeated Oxford 31-15 and Pinson Valley (13-0), led by Bo Nix’s 400 yards passing, beat another undefeated team Austin 51-50 in overtime.
      The NFHS Network is producing this game with veteran announcer Jerry Young handling play-by-play. Producer is Stacy Mills. The game will be live-streamed over the NFHS Network’s subscriber-based network. The Cullman High School NFHS School Broadcast program is also live-streaming the St. Clair County vs. Briarwood Christian Class 5A semifinals tonight at Briarwood. Producer is John Drake.
     Jerry Young is teaming with J.J. McCormick and Zach Myers to live-stream the state swimming championships Saturday.
         In addition to the live video and TV telecasts, 22 radio/internet audio broadcasts have been approved for this week’s playoffs.

23 Events Slated for NFHS Network Spain Park vs. Thompson Kicks Off Raycom AHSAA Game of the Week

    MONTGOMERY – Raycom Media will launch its first AHSAA Football Game of the Week tonight with Spain Park (4-2) visiting Thompson (4-2) in a key Class 7A, Region 3 battle. The Jaguars won last year’s game 15-14 on five field goals and went on to reach the Super 7 Class 7A state championships falling to McGill-Toolen in another thriller 14-12.   Thompson has rejuvenated its program in just the second year of Coach Mark Freeman’s tenure as head coach. 
     The NFHS Network also plans to live-stream 23 total events including 21 football games tonight and Friday.
     Raycom, which plans to televise over its Raycom Network a Game of the Week each Thursday for the rest of the regular season and then one game each Friday during the state football playoffs, will feature the broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Graham Dunn, color commentator Mike Peacock and sideline reporter Christina Chambers. Raycom will also televise live all seven AHSAA Super 7 state championship games at Auburn Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
     The remaining regular-season Games of the Week include:

NFHS SLATE INCLUDES 21 FOOTBALL GAMES
   
The NFHS Network has released a slate of 23 events to be broadcast over the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program platform this weekend. Sweet Water is live-streaming a cheer spirit competition today and Brooks High School is live-streaming its volleyball contest with Lawrence County this afternoon.  Two football games are slated tonight:  Auburn (3-3) vs. unbeaten Lee-Montgomery (6-0) at Cramton Bowl in a big 7A, Region 2 battle and Hazel Green (3-3) a Muscle Shoals (3-3) in 6A, Region 8.
    Friday’s slate includes 19 games with Russellville (5-1) vs. Brooks (4-2) in 5A, Region 8 being live-streamed by both high schools.

Raycom Announces Raycom/AHSAA TV Game of the Week Slate

       Raycom Media announced Thursday the slate of high school football games lined up for the 2016 Raycom/AHSAA Thursday Night Game of the Week series. 
     Raycom, the AHSAA’s TV Partner for the Super 7 football championships and State Basketball Tournament, will show 11 football games beginning with three Champions Challenge games Aug. 18-20, four regular season games and one playoff game over each of the first four rounds of the 2016 state playoffs. Raycom will also televise live all seven 2016 Super 7 state championship games set to be played at Auburn University’s Jordan-Hare Stadium Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.
      The slate kicks off with Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa vs. Demopolis on Thursday, Aug. 18 at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl. The 7 p.m. game will be the first of three games played in the 11th annual AHSAA Champions Challenge series hosted by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA).
     Class 7A powers Hoover and Central-Phenix City will play in the second game of the Champions Challenge on Friday, Aug. 19, and Andalusia takes on Brooks in the third game on Saturday at Cramton Bowl. Each game will kick off at 7 p.m. with a veteran broadcast team returning including Montgomery radio personality Graham Dunn handling play-by-play, Mike Peacock doing color and sideline announcer Christina Chambers, sports reporter for Raycom affiliate WBRC TV Fox 6.
       The regular-season Thursday Night Game-of-the-Week schedule includes: Oct. 6: Spain Park at Thompson; Oct. 13: Cordova at Hamilton; Oct. 20: Lee-Montgomery at Enterprise; and Oct. 27: James Clemens vs. Austin at Decatur’s Shorty Ogle Stadium.
       Raycom’s four playoff games will be Friday night games Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25 and will be selected each week.
       “We have an outstanding lineup of games for this first year,” said Broadview Media’s Rich Michaelson, Raycom executive producer for the telecasts. “The games selected should be very competitive.”
             Raycom, which plans to broadcast all three Champions Challenge contests at Cramton Bowl Aug. 22-23 over its network of six stations as well as its internet site, will also make the games available through its mobile link each week.
       Stations in the network include Raycom stations WAFF TV 48 (Huntsville), WBRC Fox 6 (Birmingham), WSFA TV 12 (Montgomery), WDFX TV 34 (Dothan) and WTVM TV 9 (Columbus, Ga.).

McGill-Toolen at Central-Phenix City 7A Semifinal Is RAYCOM AHSAA Playoff Game of the Week Tonight

  MONTGOMERY – Raycom Network will televise McGill-Toolen at Central-Phenix City tonight in its third installment of the Raycom/AHSAA High School Football Playoff Game of the Week. The Class 7A semifinal game features two schools with rich traditions.
   Mobile’s McGill-Toolen (11-1) of Coach Caleb Ross is the largest parochial school in the AHSAA. A charter member since 1921, the Yellow Jackets are hoping to reach the Super 7 state finals for the first time in school history. Central-Phenix City (9-3) last reached the state finals in 1993. Coach Jamey Dubose, in his second season as head coach, has the Red Devils in the semifinals for the first time since 2011.  McGill-Toolen reached the semifinals in 2013.
    Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Play-by-play is being handled by Graham Dunn with Mike Peacock the color commentator and Kim Canova the sideline reporter. Ken Dunbar is the statistician in the booth.
    The Raycom/AHSAA Playoff Game of the Week is a weekly live TV telecast over the Raycom Network’s Alabama affiliates. It will run through the first four rounds of the state playoffs. Six playoff games are set to be live-streamed Friday as part of the NFHS Network’s School Broadcast Program.  McGill-Toolen’s NFHS School Broadcast Program crew will live-stream the Class 7A semifinal game at Central-Phenix City tonight as well.  The Hoover High School SBP broadcast team will be live-streaming Hoover (10-2) vs. Spain Park (11-1) in the other Class 7A semifinal game tonight.
    The headliner in the quarterfinals is Opelika (12-0) at Spanish Fort (12-0), to be live-streamed the Opelika High School NFHS School Broadcast Program. The battle of Class 6A unbeatens pits two brothers as head coaches – Ben Blackmon for the Toros and Brian Blackmon for the Bulldogs.

The key Class 7A, Region 2 football clash at Wildcats Stadium will pit the Region 2 champion Red Devils versus a red-hot Enterprise team still hoping to qualify for one of the four playoff berths.
    Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. tonight with Play-by-play being handled by Graham Dunn with Mike Peacock the color commentator and Kim Cannova the sideline reporter. Ken Dunbar is the statistician in the booth.

NFHS Network School Broadcast Program Has Strong Slate of Games
   
With playoff berths riding on most of the outcomes, the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program will feature at least 10 games this week – starting with Billingsley vs. Autaugaville tonight. More are expected to be added by tomorrow.
      Houston Academy and Randolph are also live-streaming Super Regional volleyball matches tomorrow in Classes 2A and 5A for their respective teams.

RAYCOM TO TELEVISE DOTHAN VS. CARVER AT CRAMTON BOWL IN TONIGHT’S RAYCOM/AHSAA FOOTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK

     Raycom Network will televise Dothan High School (4-4) versus Carver-Montgomery (3-4) tonight in the Raycom/AHSAA Prep Football Game of the Week. The key Class 6A, Region 2 football clash at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery pits two teams fighting for No. 2 behind leader Park Crossing (7-1) for the region title.
    Coach Kelvis White’s Tigers are 4-1 in region play while Coach Billy Gresham’s Wolverines are 3-2 in region play. The Thunderbirds lead Region 2 with a 5-0 record. The Thunderbirds take on Russell County Friday. Other Region 2 games have Wetumpka at Northview and Stanhope Elmore at Carroll Friday.
    Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. tonight’s Game of the Week with Play-by-play being handled by Graham Dunn with Mike Peacock the color commentator and Kim Canova the sideline reporter. Ken Dunbar is the statistician in the booth.

It will run through the regular season on Thursday night and then switch to Friday night for the first four rounds of the state playoffs. Raycom will conclude is series with the Super 7 state championship games (all classes) at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa in December.

NFHS NETWORK FEATURES 12 AHSAA GAMES
   
A total of 12 AHSAA football games are currently listed to be live-streamed as part of the NFHS Network’s School Broadcast Program this weekend, beginning tonight with Lee-Huntsville vs. Arab at 7 p.m. at Arab.  Eleven games are set for Friday with more expected to be posted today and tomorrow. Among tomorrow’s key games will be McGill-Toolen vs. Murphy in Mobile in a key Class 7A, Region 1 game that could decide the region champion. Florence visits Hartselle in another game to be live-streamed by Florence’s award-winning SBP team of students directed by Florence Coach Randy Bruce. Both teams are battling for second behind unbeaten Muscle Shoals in Class 6A, Region 8.
    McGill-Toolen also plans to live-stream its volleyball match versus Daphne today at 5:30 p.m.

RAYCOM TO TELEVISE FOLEY VS. MURPHY AT LADD-PEEBLES STADIUM IN TONIGHT’S RAYCOM/AHSAA FOOTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK

      Raycom Network will televise Foley High School versus Murphy as tonight’s Raycom/AHSAA Prep Football Game of the Week. The key Class 7A, Region 1 football clash at Ladd-Peebles Stadium will pit two hoping to clinch one of four playoff bids from Class 7A’s only nine-team region.

   The Panthers of Coach Rick Cauley are currently 4-2 on the season and tied with McGill-Toolen (5-1) atop the Region 1 standings with a perfect 4-0 region record. Foley (5-2), coached by first-year head coach Tad Niblett, opened the season with three straight wins but lost two close region games to drop to 3-2 in region play.

Two NFHS Network Games Set For Tonight
      
The NFHS Network will live-stream two AHSAA games tonight with more than a dozen others already scheduled through the NFHS Network’s School Broadcast Program.
       The two games set for tonight are Chelsea at Benjamin Russell and Foley vs. Murphy. Among Friday’s games will be Arab at Albertville and Decatur at Muscle Shoals, both set to be live-streamed by each school competing.

  Raycom Network will televise 16 games live over the remainder of the 2015 prep football season, beginning with West Point at J.O.  Johnson tonight.
  The Class 5A, Region 8 battle between Warriors (4-1) and Jaguars (2-3) at Huntsville’s Milton Frank Stadium will kick off the Raycom/AHSAA Game of the Week, which will run through the regular season and first four rounds of the state playoffs.
  The Raycom series began in August with the three Champions Challenge games at Cramton Bowl and will conclude with the Super 7 State Championships at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa in December.
