26 AHSAA Events Set for NFHS Network Muscle Shoals vs. Florence is AHSAA’s NFHS Featured Game of the Week Friday

MONTGOMERY – A total of 26 events are scheduled to be live-streamed over the NFHS Network this weekend by AHSAA member schools. Five volleyball matches are set for today with the headliner McGill-Toolen Catholic vs. Spanish Fort being produced by the Spanish Fort School Broadcast Program. Vestavia Hills is live-streaming its junior varsity and varsity matches with defending Class 7A state champion Mountain Brook, Russellville will be live-streaming its match with Lawrence County, and Smiths Station plans to live-stream its match with Shaw of Columbus, GA.
    Florence and Muscle Shoals will each be producing the Falcons-Trojans football contest at Braly Stadium Friday night at Florence in the AHSAA NFHS Network Featured Game of the Week. Coach B.J. Wallace’s Falcons (0-1) are looking for their first win and Coach Scott Basden’s Trojans (1-1) are looking to put last week’s loss to Spain Park behind them as both teams open play in Class 6A, Region 7. Both schools’ SBP programs have been recognized by the NFHS Network in past years as among the best in the nation.
    A total of 20 football games are scheduled for Friday night with at least one game in each classification. In Class 3A, Ohatchee (2-0), which reached the semifinals of the state playoffs last season, faces Randolph County, which reached the quarterfinals from the same region, in a key opener for Region 5 teams Friday night. This contest is shaping up to be one of the best in the state this week. Coach Pat Prestridge’s Tigers (1-0). The game will be live-streamed by Eagle 102.3, a third-party producer for the NFHS Network SBP program.
     Seven Class 6A contests are on tap and five in Class 7A.
     Cullman High School plans to live-stream the Bearcats’ Class 6A, Region 7 home opener versus Albertville (2-0) Friday. CHS will also live-stream its own Bearcats 2-Mile Invitational cross country meet Saturday.
