Class 3A Volleyball State Championship

 

Bayside Academy 3, Madison  Academy 0
 
     Bayside Academy used a strong inside lineup to beat Madison Academy 25-19, 25-16, 25-18 to capture its 14th straight AHSAA state volleyball championship Thursday morning at Birmingham’s Bill Harris Arena.
     Coach Ann Schilling’s Lady Admirals (40-7) recorded 39 kills with Ariel Dulaney leading with 15 and Lauren Chastang adding 11. Chastang  also had eight digs to earn MVP honors for the second year in a row.
    Madison Academy (35-22), coached by Wendy Rucker, was led by Olivia Knott’s six kills. Sydney Chandler and Emma Wade had eight assists each.
    Bayside, which  now owns a state-record 24 state titles, also got 15 digs from Julia Martin and 30 assists from Ansleigh Dailey.
