Randolph School made it a sweep in the AHSAA Class 4A-5A state soccer championships with a 3-2 double-overtime victory won in a shootout over St. Paul’s Episcopal in the  girls finals at Huntsville’s John Hunt Soccer Complex.

St. Paul’s (18-5-4) took the early lead on Ali Sutherland’s first-half goal at the 28:54 mark.  Abby Knowling, the 4A-5A championship MVP, tied the match with a goal six minutes later.
Coach Ken Hudson’s Lady Raiders took a 2-1 lead at 61:30 with Renae Washburn’s goal, but with only 4:15 remaining in the second half, Sutherland scored her second goal for Coach Brian Thomas’ Saints to send the match into overtime.
Neither team scored in the first or second overtime period setting up the final shootout.
