CLASS 4A-5A Boys State Soccer Championship

Randolph 3, St. Paul’s Episcopal 2
Senior forward Fisher Lucas scored the winning goal with 37 seconds left in the second half Friday night as Randolph beat St. Paul’s Episcopal 3-2 to claim the 2015 AHSAA Class 4A-5A boys state soccer championship.
Lucas earned MVP honors with all three Raiders’ goals in the finals. His first two came in the opening half – at 11:48 and 23:11 – to give Randolph, coached by Alex Tomlinson, a 2-0 lead.  Noah Harrelson of St. Paul’s closed the lead to 2-1 with the Saints’ first goal at 27:20.  Harrelson tied the match with six minutes remaining to tie the match at 2-2.
Fisher then nailed the winning goal with a pass from Austin Ly setting up his final shot. Omer Yousuf assisted Fisher on his first goal.
The state title was Randolph’s sixth boys’ title, third best in AHSAA state boys’ soccer playoff history. The Raiders also had titles in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2007.
Faith Christian of Anniston and Westminster-Oak Mountain played in the 1A-3A boys’ finals while Randolph and St. Paul’s squared off in the 4A-5A finals in the late matches Friday night.
