Auburn 3, Fairhope 1
    Auburn High School’s boys soccer team beat Fairhope 3-1 Friday night in the AHSAA boys’ Class 7A state playoff semifinals and joined its girls in Saturday’s state championship matches at John Hunt Soccer Complex at Huntsville.
    Auburn’s girls advanced to Saturday’s 7A girls’ championship to face Oak Mountain at 10 a.m.  The boys, coached Bill Ferguson, also will meet Oak Mountain in the 7A boys’ championship match at 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
     The Tigers (15-8-3) led 1-0 at the half versus Fairhope thanks to Avery Atkins’ goal at the 7:27 mark. His goal was set up by Quentin Shackett’s assist.
      Fairhope (18-7-1) tied the match at 50:19 in the second half following a red card disqualification free kick. Weston Beck delivered the goal with an assist from Jack Odom.
     Auburn finished strong, however, with Harun Kalin scoring at 74:11 and Sammy McIntosh closing the scoring with a goal at 78:08. That goal was aided by Atkins’ assist.
     Tim Mixson had three saves as the Tigers’ goalkeeper.  Fairhope keeper Luke Hembree had five saves.
     The Class 7A boys’ finals will be live-streamed over the NFHS Network.

Oak Mountain 3, Bob Jones 0
    Oak Mountain (22-4-1) shut out Bob Jones 3-0 in the Class 7A boys’ semifinals Friday afternoon and advanced to Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. state championship match versus Auburn.
    The Eagles of Coach Daniel DeMasters got two goals from senior Robert Ratliff, the first at 22:21 and the second early in the second half at 50:01.
    Caleb Van Geffen scored the final goal with 19 minutes left to play.
    Ryan Dearman had four saves as the Eagles’ goalkeeper, and Quentin Boric had one goal as the Fairhope keeper.
    Oak Mountain has won four state titles with the last coming in 2011.
    Oak Mountain’s girls also advanced to Saturday’s finals to face Auburn.
