Randolph 1, Sylacauga 0
    Randolph joined its girls’ team in the state finals Thursday night with a tough 1-0 victory over Sylacauga in the AHSAA Class 4A-5A boys’ soccer semifinals at John Hunt Soccer Complex.
     Randolph (16-4-2), coached by Alex Tomlinson, will meet St. Paul’s Episcopal (18-4-4) in the boys’ championship match Friday at 6 p.m.  The 4A-5A girls’ championship will be the same two teams at 8:30 p.m.
     Senior Omer Yousuf scored the only goal of the night for Randolph in the first half at the 20:38 mark. His winning kick was set up by an assist from fellow senior Fisher Lucas.
    Sylacauga (14-8-1) managed three shots on goal with Jacob Redmond managing two. Goalkeeper Kantrell Dickerson had one save.
     Randolph keeper Boe Santos, a junior, had three saves for the Raiders.

St. Paul’s Episcopal 3, Helena 0
St. Paul’s Episcopal beat Helena 3-0 Thursday night in the AHSAA Class 4A-5A Boys’ state soccer semifinals to advance to the championship match Friday at 6 p.m.
     Play resumes Friday with Class 6A and 7A girls and boys playing semifinals beginning with 6A girls at 9 a.m. Championship matches in 1A-3A and 4A-5A will follow at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Class 6A boys’ and 7A girls’ finals will be Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by the 6A girls’ championship and 7A boys’ championship at 12:30 p.m.
    Tenisee Sulonma, Caleb Adas and Andrew Peeler scored one goal each for the Saints (18-4-4) of Coach Chad Harrelson Thursday night. William Pickard and Ryon Depinet each had one assist.
    Phildon Dublin had one save as Helena’s goalkeeper. The Huskies (14-8-3) reached the semifinals in the school’s first year as a high school this season.
