Class 2A Boys Semifinals LaFayette 87, Tanner 56

     The Bulldogs (24-5) used balanced scoring to advance to the Class 2A boys’ state basketball finals Monday with an 87-56 win over Tanner (13-14) at the BJCC Legacy Arena.
     Jatarvious Whitlow led the scoring with 20 points. Quenten Ray added 17 points and 12 rebounds,  Kaminski Bledsoe had 14 points and Trevond Barnes scored 13. Bledsoe sank 4-of-6 from the 3-point arc as LaFayette, coached by Coach Obadiah Threadgill IV, totaled 9-of-16   for the night.
     Johnathan Fletcher had 15 points and Markel Mull 12 for Tanner.
     LaFayette, last in the state tournament in 2013, are scheduled to play in the finals at 11 a.m. Friday.
