Raycom Selects Spanish Fort at Wetumpka As AHSAA Playoff Game of the Week Friday

MONTGOMERY – Raycom Network, the AHSAA TV partner, will televise the Class 6A football quarterfinal playoff game between Spanish Fort and Wetumpka Friday night live over its Raycom network of stations and the Bounce Channel.      The NFHS Network’s live-stream subscriber-based network will feature 17 school-produced live-streamed playoff contests with the Thompson vs. Hoover Class 7A semifinal at the Hoover Met being featured through a special pilot NFHS partnership program with Facebook that will stream the game live over Facebook Watch. More than 200,000 viewers have tuned in to the pilot program for the AHSAA’s featured game over the first two rounds.
     There will be at least one live-streamed contest over the NFHS Network Friday in each class but Class 1A. Class 6A plans the most (4). Classes 7A, 4A, 3A and 2A will have three productions each. In 7A, Thompson and Hoover are producing their own live-streams of that semifinal clash. In Class 6A, both Opelika and Saraland will produce the Bulldogs-Spartans game from Saraland.
     AHSAA corporate partner ALFA Insurance has also designated the Class 6A quarterfinal game between defending Class 6A state champion Pinson Valley and Homewood as the ALFA Road to the Super 7 Playoff Game of the Week. The game is being broadcast live the NFHS Network by the Homewood High School NFHS Network school broadcast program.
     Radio/internet audio broadcast coverage will include 42 productions – including three stations carrying the Class 1A Lanett at Maplesville game, the Class 3A Saks at Randolph County game and the Class 7A Hoover-Thompson semifinal game. Two delayed video telecasts are also planned at the Class 5A Mortimer Jordan vs. Jasper and Class 6A Opelika at Saraland game for a grand total of 63 broadcasts combined this Friday.
