Entry Fee Reminder: Entry fees are no longer required for state cross country and swimming meets under new Central Board policy eliminating entry fees for state championship events (finals) that require an admission. Only golf and tennis state finals now require entry fees.
Off-Season Practice During The School Year: A coach at an AHSAA member school is not permitted to conduct practices or give private individual instruction to his/her own players in the off-season during the school year except during the allowable Evaluation Period.
The Fifty Percent Rule is in effect when players from a school team receive instruction as a group from the same instructor. Players from a school team may receive instruction as part of a group that includes players from other schools.
During the summer, an AHSAA coach is allowed to conduct non-mandatory practices, give private individual instruction and coach in seven days of competition with his/her own players.
School Coaches Must Be Certified: Any person (faculty or non-faculty) with any coaching responsibility at an AHSAA member school must be certified or working toward certification under the Coaches’ Education Program. In the off-season during the school year, school team coaches cannot coach any of his/her own players except during the allowable Evaluation Period.
