Wetumpka Forfeits 5 Games, Draws Fine
Wetumpka High School has been fined $300, placed on probation for one year and ordered to forfeit five football games for violating AHSAA eligibility rules.
The school used an ineligible player in all seven games against this season in violation of the Transfer Rule. Wetumpka must forfeit its victories over Greenville, Robert E. Lee, Carver, Benjamin Russell and Jeff Davis.
The probationary period is a warning that other violations of this nature could bring further sanctions against the school.
